Snakes Alive

Ok so dad says I must not fear snakes but respect them. This one was caught red handed with one of our chickens eggs down its throat. After dad assured me it was safe to handle as it has no teeth let alone any venom I posed for this picture. Everyone thinks I am brave but actually the poor snake was more afraid than I was.

Its real name is a mouthful much like it just had. Dasypeltis scabra or common egg eater.

After swallowing an egg it crushes it in its throat then spits out the shell.

As it would return over and over dads friend Nick Evans the snake catcher released it far away from our chickens.

Cesiras Home School

In March of this year my regular school Browns had to shutdown because of the Covid 19 Virus. They were shut for about five months. No problem. Dad converted a room for me into a classroom. All the work from a homeschool facility is sent to me and I now work from home. Only thing I miss is the other kids. Have a lot more breaks as well but I can work at my own pace. I am covering the regular syllabus albeit two years behind for my age group but I am getting there. 10 Aug 2020

Heritage

September 24 2019

Ok so in South Africa we have National Heritage day where we get to dress to show where we come from. Dads kind neighbour Yashica gave me this beautiful dress that belonged to her daughter. Quiet a mission to get it on and off but certainly worth the effort. Had this picture taken at school. I loved twirling the dress everywhere I went. Even had the little bindi dot on my forehead. Pretty cool. Wish I could dress like this every day.

Roots

Dad took me to the 1860 Heritage Centre family day today. We saw plenty of classical Indian dancing, had a tour through the museum
and many other cultural events. These dancers are so beautiful and their costumes are amazing.

Another three years

Wow another three years. Dad you getting slack. So much has happened. I am getting along slowly at my new school Browns. This year I am actually repeating last year again as not quite ready to move up. The teachers feel I would benefit from having my own personal facilitator in class. Trouble is I just love the other kids and want to talk and watch them all the time. Dad says he could do it but I don’t the school allows parents. After two years of taking Epilim to prevent seizures Dr Keshave has put me onto the syrup version as I slowly wean myself off. So far so good. I now have five chickens to chase around the yard and sometimes I collect their eggs. Dad takes me to school every day and we sometimes play rock and roll music which we sing along with. I don’t like all his stuff though. My  favourite is Boom Boom song. I also love playing soccer with Dad and can easily outplay him . When the Dr asked me what my favorite soccer team was I said my dad of course.

Where has the time gone?

Three years have whizzed by since dad last blogged. In that time I have been in three different schools. First was Bunykins a play school where I was until four then Sherwood and now I have settled into the Browns school in Marianhill near Durban. My milk teeth have started falling out,in fact one just fell out when this photo was taken at a party. My talking has improved no end and at last those nappies are history.

The Big Chop

P1120396

After three years of carefully cultivating my locks Dad says it is time for a new look. When we walked in I clung onto Dad for dear life as it looked a bit like that clinic place where they stick sharp things into you that are really sore. Eventually I calmed down and they placed a board across a chair for me to sit on. A nice lady then washed my hair and then I moved to another chair where I could look into a mirror where I watched my tresses fall to the floor in a messy heap. As you can see the final result is a whole new me.
