Roots

Dad took me to the 1860 Heritage Centre family day today. We saw plenty of classical Indian dancing, had a tour through the museum
and many other cultural events. These dancers are so beautiful and their costumes are amazing.

Another three years

Wow another three years. Dad you getting slack. So much has happened. I am getting along slowly at my new school Browns. This year I am actually repeating last year again as not quite ready to move up. The teachers feel I would benefit from having my own personal facilitator in class. Trouble is I just love the other kids and want to talk and watch them all the time. Dad says he could do it but I don’t the school allows parents. After two years of taking Epilim to prevent seizures Dr Keshave has put me onto the syrup version as I slowly wean myself off. So far so good. I now have five chickens to chase around the yard and sometimes I collect their eggs. Dad takes me to school every day and we sometimes play rock and roll music which we sing along with. I don’t like all his stuff though. My  favourite is Boom Boom song. I also love playing soccer with Dad and can easily outplay him . When the Dr asked me what my favorite soccer team was I said my dad of course.

Where has the time gone?

Three years have whizzed by since dad last blogged. In that time I have been in three different schools. First was Bunykins a play school where I was until four then Sherwood and now I have settled into the Browns school in Marianhill near Durban. My milk teeth have started falling out,in fact one just fell out when this photo was taken at a party. My talking has improved no end and at last those nappies are history.

The Big Chop

P1120396

After three years of carefully cultivating my locks Dad says it is time for a new look. When we walked in I clung onto Dad for dear life as it looked a bit like that clinic place where they stick sharp things into you that are really sore. Eventually I calmed down and they placed a board across a chair for me to sit on. A nice lady then washed my hair and then I moved to another chair where I could look into a mirror where I watched my tresses fall to the floor in a messy heap. As you can see the final result is a whole new me.

Three today

3 Birthday

No big party today. Just granny Cheryl and Dad at the beach where we eat some sandy cake. At 12 kilos you are growing a little heavy to carry for long distances but still like to ride on my shoulders. Walking is coming on if not a little unsteady and you trip easily. It’s tantrum season and five minute screaming sessions are not uncommon. You love going to playshool and of course the teacher and kids fuss over you. I am however fretting more and more about your reluctance to talk. Although your repertoire is growing you are unable to put two words together yet. No one else feels this is a problem and we must be patient. Good news is the seizures have stopped and you are no longer on medication. We will wait to see the results of a further EEG to see if all is well. And so we soldier ever on.

Culture

So now dad reckons it's time to reflect part of my culture. He takes me off to the Diwali festival and buys me this outfit. Next thing he will be dressing me as an Italian and playing opera music.  A girl might get  confused.

North Beach Revisited

Beach

Well those first two years have passed and here I am back on North beach again. One might even think I am a bit of a beach bum with all the postings. Truth is I wish Dad would bring me down more often as my walking is getting pretty good. He had to hold me back from rushing into the surf this time. I have not had a seizure for some weeks now but the jury is still out on the reasons why. I can say by by and boo and some other baby stuff so plenty of work ahead on that issue.
