Well those first two years have passed and here I am back on North beach again. One might even think I am a bit of a beach bum with all the postings. Truth is I wish Dad would bring me down more often as my walking is getting pretty good. He had to hold me back from rushing into the surf this time. I have not had a seizure for some weeks now but the jury is still out on the reasons why. I can say by by and boo and some other baby stuff so plenty of work ahead on that issue.

Life is a beach
Well the days months and weeks have rolled by since I first set foot on this beach at three months. As I approach my second birthday there is still a lot to learn. Ok I did take a few steps but prefer pushing something in front of me. On the chat side I sometimes get a sound out that sounds kinda like a word. Whats the rush anyway. The seizures are easing up which is a good thing. Other than that my charm machine is still on very high setting.

Weekend away
They call this place Banana Beach but it is certainly bereft of any bananas even from this convenient vantage. Spending some time with Dads nephew and family and I get to hang out with Sophie who is my age .

Look Dad no support
At the grand old age of 18 months I am now able to stand by myself for short periods. Now if I can just get those feet moving this house is going to have a torrid time.

Down by the River (17 months)
Can’t believe Dad doesn't bring me down here more often. I mean he only has to carry my 9kgs for about five minutes to get here. All this water that keeps rushing past. Wonder why someone has not closed their taps. We had to watch for mambas and other critters but mostly its just the water that rushes past. I could sit here all day it’s so peaceful. We are truly blessed. Can’t wait to start walking.

Swing Low
Ok just for once I approve Dads recycling obsession. These are old roof batons also left over by the builders. Even the rope was found in the river below and is genuine mountaineering standard. As all the tall trees are in the valley my swing was simply attached to the roof overhang on the patio. I really can’t get enough of being pushed and let him know by loud wails if I’m removed before I’ve had enough. One really has a tough time training this parent of mine. You would think by now he would know a girls needs.
Sandman
Can you believe this. Durban is famous for their beaches that stretch on for kilometres. All I get is this little patch of sand in a box Dad knocked together from old roof trusses left over from the alterations. I am practising my sand sculptures like those guys at the real beachfront. Who knows maybe l’ll get a few tips one day. This sand is also pretty damp after all the rains so to add insult to injury I have to sit on a water proof bag. As soon as those holiday barriers come down on Durban's beachfront i will demand the real thing.
